Christmas in October block Swap

You can get white fabric with little patterns in white on it. There is white on white, cream on white, white on cream and cream on cream. The creams vary, some are almost taupe, but the whites are always the same. I think Kassaundra has used a white on cream in a her fourth pinwheel block but it is difficult to tell from the photo. I've used white on white in blocks I have sent you, the autograph block and the big chicken block spring to mind.

I really think we should not mess with the size, Katz. The tutorial on the Missouri site for disappearing pinwheel 5 is so clear and easy to follow and makes a wonderful quilt. I sent it to an absolute beginner quilter and she is soooo enthusiastic about it. The white background of the pinwheels really make the modern colours pop.

Yes, the first one is white fabric, the second is white on cream, the third is blue. What size is in the video? I wasn't able to watch it. We are talking about sending the blocks as pinwheels, then when we get them doing the cutting and reassembling ourselves, right?

Yes. I believe that is the plan. The blocks on the video start out as 10", but after cut they are a rectangle, sewed side by side, 6 across and 7 down with a 6 " border.

Wow! Everyone sure has been chatty! I take a few days off and I come back and am overwhelmed by all the posts on all the threads I participate in that I'm not sure I can read them all.

The disappearing pinwheel sounds like fun however, I will not be able to participate in that one.

Got news last week that my daughter is now engaged and they are planning the wedding for Nov 14. That is the soonest that my mother can get here from out of the country. She is the only grand daughter so it's kind of important, not that the boys aren't but there are 7 grandsons and 1 granddaughter.

I have some quilting I have to do. I'll be expanding an almost finished quilt for my daughter and her husband to be and then I have to get the thing quilted! Yikes! Maybe I'll splurge and pay to have someone else quilt it.

Then, I need to put together the Disappearing 9-Patch for my brother. I never did get to take that trip down to visit him but I am going down after my daughter's wedding (the following week) to a get together down there that was already planned.

I really want to participate in the Christmas block swap and I know there's lots of time left... if I could just find some momentum to get me going! When is this block due?

And what's going on with the fall MR? Question: was it to be fall colors or just fall season due? And when is it due? I haven't received a name yet.

Welcome home Lacy Blues. Sounds as if your life is full but with happy events,

I think the mug rug is just due in Autumn (Fall), not in Autumn colours. Rosie is with her Mum at the moment but she will verify at some point. I think we should make the MR's in colours we enjoy using. That makes them more special to the recipients because they reflect the maker/giver. I may end up displaying all the ones I get from BYC over time on a memory board. I have all the 'Another Little Quilt Swap' quilts on the wall going up my stairs. So far they have come from Canada, Norway, California and Tasmania. Isn't the quilting world lovely to be part of?

I think it is very lovely! What a collection! I think it is fascinating to receive something from somewhere else! Places I probably will never get to see!

So nice to hear from you Lacy Blues!

ok just wanted to make sure your white on white is the same as mine lol and yes it will be easier to keep the size as the video. I love the idea of all the ALQS quilts going up your stairs. You should post a pic.
