Minniechicks~I think your block is just lovely!! Very Christmas-y! I'm going to start on mine this week I think. I still have a little cutting out to do. I'm going to take it to the quilt shop tomorrow and work on it.
Katsdar~I don't have a milk cow now, but we had one many years ago. We milked her by hand. I never could get the hang of it. I could get some milk out, but took forever. DH could do it and get a frothy bucket of milk in a short time! We only had her for the summer. The kids wouldn't drink the milk because the first time we milked her, she had gotten in to weeds and the milk tasted of them. She gave more milk than we could ever use, so we ended up selling her. I had a pasteurizer that I used. I didn't pasteurize it very long. Just brought it up to the temp it was supposed to and then quickly cooled it. Made some butter. It was a fun experience! Just time consuming. Had to go bring her in and milk her twice a day.
