Boyd, we had the most incredible Christmas ever. Then this morning, I find a blanket with puke all over it on top of the washer. She left last night for a week. It is now sitting on her bedroom floor NOT WASHED. She is getting a stern talking to the minute she comes home. I am NO ONES slave. That was just disgusting.
Can I hijack and add that my sister's dinner party fell through; so she invited other friends over???!!!!!! We were all 3 blocks away and she invites people to her house who had to travel 8 miles over icy roads???!!!!!!!
I am so ready to just leave her hanging....
Sorry but she has been pulling crap like this for a while; being the 'Holier than thou' Christian and how we are all just second class citizens....... One of the key factors who I want to MOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Any good real estate deals along the WI-IL border?
I hear ya on this rant, My Christmas Eve was NIGHTMARE!
I took the baby, 7 months old, to my grandmother's, they usually do things at 5, but everyone headed out there early and called me at the last minute. I didn't get there until almost 5, with the bad weather and getting the gifts together and the kids ready.
Well.....my family drinks alot.....I mean ALOT!
By the time I got there they had killed 3 cases of beer and 4 bottles of wine.
Two of my cousins were singing Christmas carols.......have you ever heard drunk people sing Christmas carols???? It was HORRID!
The baby was terrified and crying most of the time I was there and the house was packed so there was nowhere to go to get away from the chaos. By the time we were ready to leave, the baby would just see one of the drunken singing cousins come near him and he would cry!
Christmas day wasn't much fun either, we got up and opened gifts here, I helped get the food going for dinner, then had to leave to go to the yet another family deal. They only had sandwiches for their food and by the time I got back home all the food was cold.
I love Christmas, but I hate the running and commotion!
By the time I got there they had killed 3 cases of beer and 4 bottles of wine. roll
At that point I would have turned on my heel and walked BACK out the door. I do not tolerate drunks no matter what the occasion. I especially do not tolerate drunks near my kids--it sends the kids altogether the WRONG message about what is acceptable behavior.

Absolutely. Christmas and Christmas Eve have absolutely NOTHING to do with drinking, and drinking to oblivion is no merriment for anyone.
As to the

Since you are a family, on family occasions you need to do things as a family, not individually. Either say, "sorry we can't make it" or eveyone goes together. If you were putting together a meal, why would you leave when it was nearly done? It would have made more sense for all of you to go by for a short visit later in the day. Of course, they should have saved you a full plate.

Debi, remember the pic of him in a full suit the day he attended a wedding?
He looked so suave and cool, and he was melting because it was a billion degrees out.
That was you, right Boyd? Or was it ol' Buster from Idaho?
