Christmas Rant ******

I understand you getting annoyed Boyd. You do all the work and no one appreciates it. Believe me, I know the feeling. Glad it ended up OK for you though.

All this hectic stuff on the holidays is getting to me lately. I think I'll skip the whole thing next year. Christmas Eve we went to step daughter's.....it was nice but an hour's drive and I was just so tired. On the way home we got pulled over, and there was no spot to park because of the massive snow we had. I knew I was driving fine, but we were in a different town......and I was worried. It wasn't so bad though, the cop noticed my tail lights weren't on, and he wished us a Merry Christmas. *whew*

Christmas day we had everyone over and the whole thing all over again. It's somebody else's turn now, after 30 + years of hosting, I'm done.

Well, I'm saying that now.........wait til next year, I might feel differently.

I did not read this entire thread. I only read the first post. I understand where you are coming from - but (there is always a but) -

My sister has 7 foster kids. One thing I think you know with these kids - usually blood is thicker than water. You may treat her better than anyone in her life every has or ever will but there is still that part of those kids that longs for the bio attachments that come with the other people. Don't make her pay for wanting to be with a bio sister. If your house is her home welcome her home and show her you understand.

naw, i didn't.. I was just frustrated.

But year after year I have the same couple of kids always ducking out on holidays and birthdays.
