Wow Betty your a pro!

I want to try that Babka this weekend.

? My bread dough cycle mixes, then rest, then mixes, then lets it rise. So it rises 2x I think, should I wait till it completely finishes.
Thanks

BettyR, if you're going to talk about food, it would be nice if you could provide the recipes and a little detailed instructions, and maybe a photo or two.

(just joking - your recipes and photos were phenomal - when's your picture cookbook coming out? Are you an employee of Martha Stewart???)

Yes the more times it mixes the dough and lets it rise the better...but you may have to keep an eye on it and make sure the dough doesn't rise out of the pan. If it's about to touch the lid I just punch it down but leave it in the machine until it finishes the cycle.

Let me know how it turns out for you.

No, just an old shutter bug.

I take pictures of everything...my family doesn't even notice that I take pictures of the food... they are so used to me taking pictures of everything I see. When we had to pay to develop the pictures I had to try and control myself but with these digital cameras I can just go wild.

My kids are always asking my "Why do you take so many pictures of your food?"

You and I have the same shutterbug-cooking affection LOL

Yea, I like to take pictures of things so that when someone wants the recipe I can show them what it's supposed to look like. The whole thousand word thing is so true....it's so much easier to show than it is to tell.

People (especially kids) eat with their eyes first, if it doesn't look good, you might as well forget them eating it! My culinary students always want to see a picture of the the finished product, not that I can always produce one, but the visual does help with the prep!
I will definately add to this column!

Anyone have a good pie recipe?
DH and my 5 year old just picked a big bowl of them while my little one slept from his hard day of playing.

Now I want to make a pie, tonight. I have looked in some of our cook books but nothing with blackberry pie recipes.

Any help in a short time?

I looked on the all recipes site and didnt see any that jumped out at me with a couple with bad reviews =/

Thanks
