Christmas shopping for the unshoppable

Think Geek has a gadget that helps pput the bubbles from a vinegar and baking soda combo into your fruit juice so you have fizzy juice. I think it's $7.
They also have a home fermentation kit for less that $15 (I think that's right).

There are a lot of science-y gadgets on there for those adults that are in touch with their inner child.
Unique things that are not everywhere, and not unaffordable.

I think I will be making fizzy drinks with my nieces this Christmas

Most everyone else gets homemade jelly: Irony is that my family doesn't eat my gifts, but all my friends and co-workers LOVE IT.

Another idea: you can make a calendar with photos you have taken - you edit the calendar & put the pics where you want. Maybe get photos sent to you on CD by other family members. Or you can make a photo book - I did that for my dh - my dd's and I have a friend just getting started in photography - did a fabulous shoot for $50 - I made the photo book for $30. I did mine on Kodak Gallery (they also offer calendars). I think the calendars are inexpensive maybe $15??

My MIL & FIL were like that. And they absolutely hated getting anything that would need dusting. They made it clear they wanted nothing that would sit on a shelf or hang on a wall. The brands of clothes they wore I could not afford. We usually just stuck with gift cards from their favorite restuarants and theaters. They loved going out to dinner and a movie.

My dad is much like this and he always has said "If I can't eat it or read it I don't want it". So I usually bake cookies, buy beer and/or find informational books with many pictures

Often times we get caught up in getting something "really special" but what could be better than cookies?!!?

last year we found some neat night-lights -- they change colors and are like the old 'lava lamps' ---
we gave those things to the kids, teen-agers, and the old-folks -- they were a big hit -- so we had to get one for ourselves --

unusual gadgets like that usually go over big with our crowd --
