Christmas Turkey Carcass

The stock from the Thanksgiving turkey was used to brine the Christmas turkey, and the stuffing. Bones go in the fire to make bone meal then in the garden.
 
Our turkey carcass (the neck & wing tips after being boiled for gravy stock + the body) was picked clean in one afternoon by 8 chickens! Most were nervous about it at first, but a few brave hens dived in. An hour later I looked out the window to see the roo shaking the wing tip around. LOL!

It was worth it for the entertainment, and I'm not a big soup lover either so they can have it.
