We have been pooped on more than once :). We do a lot of laundry. Honestly, we have a huge pile of “duck blankets” that includes old blankets and towels. If we are holding them for extended periods of times, you grab a duck blanket. Then it will go in the wash. If they’re hanging out at home on the couch.... duck blanket. Their poop is why they have their own camping lounge chair. They can poop in it all they want and then we just hose it down.
Duck poop is definitely much easier to clean up/off than chicken poop, IMO anyway. Luckily for me when I’m outside I’ve always got on clothes that aren’t hurt by the mess. And since it’s warm weather, I just rinse it off and go right on with whatever I’m doing. Ducks aren’t gonna scare me off that easily. :lau

However, I’m gonna throw an old towel over the settee that I usually sit in when holding my babies.

You are right! I also think that water-fowl poop is much less smellier that land-bird poop. Yes, the moment it leaves the duck it really smells bad and looks like disgusting diarrhea, but just 15 minutes later it doesn't smell anymore.
Currently i have a mega flock of crows around here, they are stealing the duck-food out of the feeder and poop everywhere. After rain, when it is heating up again the whole place smells like a huge bird toilet. :sick Those crows are lucky that they keep the BoPs away!

The 4 year old I nanny for just asked, "Why can't Chuck and Buck and that boy come visit us?" I tried to explain that they lived too far away but she thought that was a lame excuse.

As much as she loves giving snacks to my ducks... They just aren't as cool as Chuck and Buck. She regularly pretends her rubber ducky toys are Chuck and Buck, and insists on seeing their photos. I comply because I'm also smitten.

I can’t really find a smell associated with their poop at all!
