chukar anyone?

    good morning everyone ! Ive had had and hatched quail in the past and I really miss having a smaller bird in my backyard. I have ben seeing chukar eggs for hatching here and there and wanted to know if anyone has raised these birds? I hear the eggs are just as good and the meat from these birds are very good as well but just wanted to see if anyone had experience with them. Thank you

    They are easy to raise and great on the table.

    Does anyone know how many weeks it takes to get to a good butcher weight? I've hunted them and they are very good on the table

    20 wks they will be about as big as they will get. You could go a little longer if you wish but at that age they will be eating a lot of food and for what they will produce back in meat will not equal to the inputs.
