Chukar

does anyone know about raising Chukar in cages? I would like to try these bird next spring. I think it might be fun . some hatchers sell them .

I raised some for a couple years. They where egg eaters couldn't get very many eggs from them,finally turned them loose they never stayed around. I like my coturnix quail much better I get lots of eggs they hatch very good for me & I enjoy hearing the males crow. I might try raising them again chukars remember to feed them oyster shell. You might try putting a bowl of sand in the pen I know my quail love that never tried that with chukars.

Raised them years ago, in laying cages where eggs rolled out. Caged in pairs. Best hatch rate of any birds i raised. had 3 pairs every egg laid and set hatched.

If released they like hilly areas.
