Our Delaware mix hen has been sitting on 4 of our green Easter Egger eggs. One hatched yesterday and is all yellow. I'm assuming that means it's going to be mainly white in coloring. Here's a picture of momma and baby!

How Adorable!! I wanted an all yellow EE chick and finally got one.You just might get a pink or beautiful aqua egg! Lucky you.
Here is her pictures at 9 weeks old. She was all yellow as a baby. I call her cream puff.

Thanks for all your pictures and kind words. Churkey hatched 2 more EE chicks yesterday and today. She has one egg left. I will post pics later this evening.

We really got lucky that she gets broody twice a year because she hatches all of our eggs and none of my other chickens have exhibited the broody "gene".

Churkey was determined to be a Delaware mix by the fine folks here at BYC. She was our first chicken. Our youngest daughter brought her home from a school hatching project in 2007 that launched our chicken raising experience. She does have the trademark Delaware white/black coloring with some brown spots thrown in. I don't think I'm breed savvy enough to guess what she is mixed with.

How she got her name. Older daughters teased the youngest that her chicken at 6 weeks old looked more like a turkey/chicken mix...hence the name Churkey!

There are more pictures of Churkey on our BYC page.
