Cinnamon queen pullet or cockerel

Huh. Good to know. I have never seen anyone post a pic of a CQ with a rose comb. I just did a Google search for pics and didn't see any right off the bat either, but I trust your experience.

But aren't CQ roosters mostly white with the red shoulder patches? Is it usual for this chick to have so much patterning?

Anyway... wow. The younger chick pics sure looks brownish to me. I guess to sex them, you need to see the males and the females side by side to pick out the "browner" ones for females. I see why this one slipped through!

They're an interesting cross for sure. I very frequently see pictures of the pullets in this part of the forum but rarely cockerels. According to the genetics calculator for this cross, this chick sounds about right in appearance for one. :) I bet the red will come in!

The one you are asking about is the one front and center in the first pic, right? In the second pic I see a barred rock (behind the feeder), a buff orp (light, in the back), and a sapphire gem (grey, front left). With the one in question between the feeder and waterer and in the last three pics as a younger chick?

That doesn't look like a cinnamon queen of either sex. Pea comb (CQ should be single). Patterning on the wings. As @Rhodebar Lover said, TSC mislabels chicks all the time, but I am pretty sure you got something like a Wyandotte or Easter Egger/Olive Egger of some type rather than a CQ. Too young to tell sex in a breed that isn't chick down sexable.
Yes, that's the chick in question. I wondered about that comb, too! Thank you. I'd actually really like a "colored egger". ;) I'm brand new to chickens.

Thank you for your input!! I guess it's still wait and see?

I'm sorry, I'm confused; do you mean you think this might be a hen, after all? Because that would be wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and insight; I never even knew there was such a thing as a genetics calculator!

TSC is notorious for mislabeling chicks. There are countless incidents of this happening on BYC and even when I visit local TSCs they almost always have chicks mislabeled :(
Oh, thank you for telling me. I should have, but didn't, realize there was such a steep learning curve when it comes to chickens.

I did some digging and I see where I got confused! While Hoover's says theirs are crossed with a SLW, other hatcheries use white Wyandottes and say their male chicks have white down. Stands to reason the cockerels from the SLW cross will not be the white with red patches I am used to seeing! Interesting!

Nope, still a cockerel :) Just clarifying that his color is correct for a Cinnamon Queen cockerel :)
