City demanded on my property !!

Well one they are werid, you should have asked Were is the search warrent?

Another thing is that they could be theifs, when somebody is digging through your cans... yeah that is not good.

I would keep my house tighter than Fort Know if this was happening around the neighborhood.

If they come back ask them to show you a search warrant and get their names. In Knoxville Animal Control is allowed to come onto your property at any reasonable daylight hour to look for chickens. Obviously they can't read the Constitution correctly...

I skipped most of the posts to get to here. Contact their supervisor immediately after contacting the ACLU.

My wife knows full and well to not let anyone onto our property without a warrant.

I would sooo call the cops. because if they showd up with out a warrent they are not allowed to come and search your property. I am sure your city could get in some big dodo for what they did. If if you have a nabouger that complans about your horses could invite them over for some coffe and show them how clean the stalls are. By the sounds of it you muck them out a lot.

Have the video camera ready the next time they show up.As silly as you may feel always record them. Probably should contact a lawyer. In most states you should be able to sue someone when bogus complaints are made over and over. In this case you can sue the city for harrassment if they continue to come out every time there is a poo complaint since they result to give the name of the neighbor. I thought only in cases of life/death situations could someone go onto a property to check on an animal.

Best wishes!

*Volunteer Code Enforcement*

Hmmm sounds like someone with a bit of time on their hands who enjoys throwing their weight around and being able to intimidate others. Some people do get off on the power they can have over others.

You should have a right to a copy of the report and pictures take of your property.Follow up on that. I would want to know what was said/written after someone bullies their way onto my property.

They don't need a warrant as it is not a criminal complaint.

The best thing you can do once neighbors start complaining is move the horses out.

That is easier said then done for some people Welsummerschick.
Something sounds very fishy indeed. I know in our town they have to be given permission by the property owner to enter the property and to take picutures.

Just wondering here...is the land of yours and your neighbors desirable real estate? I've heard of developers trying to condemn land before to acquire property. This sounds too fishy..somethings not right.

Definitely put a call into the city and please let us know what they say! Also, until then, just be very aware of your surroundings. Take note of strange cars, etc. The volunteer code enforcement thing sounds fishy to me. Even if they were legitimate, I would still be complaining about them to the city!
