My name is Mary. My husband and I just bought a new home that came with 15 chickens (no rooster) and 2 barn cats. I have been doing what the previous owners set up for the chickens, but with research, it could be so much better. I am looking forward to learning more from you all!
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yes, new as of 11/25/2020
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
15
(3) What breeds do you have?
I have no idea, except for the 2 Naked Neck chickens.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Eggs! And they are fun to watch.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Travel, which we have not figured out how we are going to travel for weeks, now that we have chickens that need to be maintained daily.
We also collect classic cars (67 Chevelle, 72 Buick GS350, 2017 Challenger Hellcat (future classic, only has 500 miles)).
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
The house came with 2 outdoor cats, who I spoiled with their new heated bed houses. Hopefully, they will still be our mousers.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
The previous owners recommended Backyard Chickens, so I searched it online, and here I am. Joined immediately!
