Slinging her backpack across her shoulder, Emily stood up, spreading the ashes of her small fire into the dirt, as not to show she had been here. The way she'd made her fire had kept it from smoking to point of showing her location.
She looked to her right, up ahead about a half mile to the area she'd been scouting last night before it had gotten dark. Starting in that direction, she made no noise as she stayed to the shadows, going unoticed.
