CL Rooster ad, but I am not sure what he is selling... HELP

Not sure if this is the right area, but folks come here...

Rare young blue laced red wyandotte rooster. Cost $4 per chicken day-old straight run. Not mean. Very docile. I have 2 - only need 1. Plenty big enough to butcher. $8 or best offer

So is he selling day old straight run... or adult roosters? or both?
Yes I want to call but want to find out first.

I think it means the chicks cost 4.00 when he got them, but now it is $8.00 (has grown).

Nope- that's wrong. I just read it again. I think he means that he paid $4 for it as a day old chick, and now it is big enough to butcher.

Yup, I am just *certain* that's "cost" in the past tense.... like when someone says "for sale, custom upholstered leather sofa, cost $2000 sacrifice for $500".

You'd be paying $8 for a several-months-old cockerel. With purty feathers

I'm with the others. Think he paid $4 for them as SR day olds. Now they are older and he's ID'd these two as Roos. He only needs one Roo so he's selling off the other for $8.
