Crap!!

Now I have some follow up questions if you guys don't mind:

I would actually like to keep him but roosters aren't technically allowed in my city. (We don't have an HOA in my neighborhood so that's not a problem.)

I'm wondering if I could just ask my neighbors if they'd mind me keeping him. He's no where near as loud as their (very loud and untrained) dogs.

Has anyone had experience with asking neighbors about this? What kinds of things did you tell your neighbors to convince them to let you keep roos?

Would there be any disadvantages to keeping him? So far he's very tame and friendly; I've handled all my chickens a lot since I got them at 1 week old. I know sometimes roosters' temperments can change later though.

If I choose to sell him, what are the best options to ensure he ends up in a good home and not on a dinner plate or an abusive or negligent home?

I've already seen some of the advantages in keeping a roo, some thru the good behaviors I've seen him exhibit so far, others through my research on this site. I'm at a crossroads and very divided about the next course of action.

The exact same thing happened to me with a bird that looks almost identical to this one...Mine I think was a rhode island red mix...anyway she started crowing....began attacking my hens and Elvira became Elvis and was auctioned off a few days later along with 7 more that I knew were roosters.
