I knew I was truly old when our local "Classic Rock" station started playing songs that were popular when I was in college. Neil Young was right: Rock and roll will never die.
Well around where I work at...if you hear rock...you turn and look....all.we hear is booooommmm!!! Trunk rattle....booooommm! #$%&* you$&%*$*$*booooom! I guess I'm the oddball....
We hear gospel at hours of the night we don't want to hear it. The people at the church have no respect for their neighbors. 12 at night we still hear them on the weekends.
I respect all religions. I really do, but I don't respect people that won't let me sleep. The church is right across the road. It gets even worst on their revival days. *shudders* On those days I wish I had a loud speaker so I can tell them to tone it down. They scare my pets and make my horse go psychotic. Noise ordinance doesn't apply to them. My dad turns on his radio and competes with them. Classic rock vs. gospel. It's kinda funny.
you know, 16-17 years ago (me thinks) I asked my dad if he would "consider" taking me and my girlfriend to an Aerosmith concert ( edge of getting my DL) and he was thrilled. Apparently my dad was cooler than I thought and we got to see Aerosmith's Pump tour then the uh..... What came after pump? Permanent vacation? Get a Grip? hm.... Anyhoodles, we busted out all the old black sabbath LP's that were in storage and life got a lot more interesting.. Then got to hang with him and his bud who was in Deep Purple........
Yeah, I love the 70's music
80's are fun, and 90's... well, lets just pick and choose there cuz the 90's were sorta funky..

Bust out some old school Pantera .. Perhaps Attack the Radical?
In the states
There's a problem with race
Because of ignorant past burned fires
From evolution
We've been killing each other
I figure man should have it down to a science
No chance
Not for a minute
Not for a second
I won't be defensive
I'm straight out in my opinion
You'ld better listen to a man who knows what he is saying
I've seen your side
You run and hide for the mere fact that you feel inferior
Be superior
And know your interior
Race, pride, prejudice
Black man, white man
No stand
Live in the past
We make it last
A hated mass
No solution
Mind pollution
For revolution
So low behold my eyes
This land of fools will rise
No good
For no one
You blame oppression and play the role of criminals
To rape and burn show progress is minimal
White hoods and militants you know it's such a pity
Living, breathing
Violence in your city
If one man
Had one home
In one world
Held live alone without variety
Full of anxiety
No one to point at, question
Or even talk to -- in his private grave
No matter what color
He wouldn't be saved from hell
He dwells
A closed mind playing the part of prison cells
Race, pride, prejudice
Black man, white man
No stand
Live in the past
We make it last
A hated mass
No solution
Mind pollution
For revolution
So low behold my eyes
This land of fools will rise
No good
For no one
Ok, not quite on topic but enough "key" words that shuts up peeps who dismiss heavy metal out of hand... and enough to get the attention of the "Verve Pipe Blasters" ... ps, I live across the road from a church also..
