Why would I want Lyft or Uber, when I can ride a bus for free ?

I don't have a free bus, the one that comes by my apartment is a buck for each time you get on or change buses if you can find one going where you need to go to. to the person asking what lyft or uber is, it's a private car share program that operates in essence like a taxi but you need a smart phone and an app to use it, and likely a credit card or at least somehow electronically connected to some sort of banking type system.

A dollar isn't bad. To ride a regular Pace bus out here, I believe it is $ 3, coming and $ 3 going.

unfortunately the routes are lousy and many people are forced to walk up to 2-3miles from the nearest stop to their destination in town, and they only service the city.....

If I were to take a regular Pace bus, I'd have to walk about 3 miles to the nearest stop for me, and the same going home.

Our senior bus (leased from Pace) takes us around the township limits. For dr./dentist/medical tests, they will go up to 2 miles past the limits.

They will take folks to the train station but, not many trains can be of use. Some only run a couple times a day and if you miss it - you are stuck.
