Cleaning eggs???

Does anyone clean their eggs in any way before incubating? I am wondering because my ducks lay them all over the place and they get mud and duck poop on them all the time.

Eggs should not be washed unless they are dirty with waste or dirt; you can rinse them off gently with lukewarm water if dirty.

Cleaning the eggs will remove the bloom, the protective coating that prevents bacteria to enter the egg shell. If they are really dirty, use a dry cloth to get the feces off if you can. Good luck with your hatch!
