Cleaning my pantry, cereal?

Weeding out old stuff and I have several boxes of cereal. Crispy rice, oatmeal squares, cherrios, etc., what can I throw to my chickens safely?

It's perfectly fine for chickens to have cereal. Except my goats get to it before my chickens! Lol

Sure, as long as they don't have a high sugar content.
If you have a lot and just a few chickens, you don't want to overload them. Those things don't have a lot of protein.

I've given mine various leftover cereals like Cheerio type cereal, muesli (with unwanted bits picked out), etc - and they seem to like it fine in lieu of scratch. As with all treats I feed it minimally, but it's been a good way to use up stale cereal.

When my children leave over soggy breakfast cereals with milk in their bowls, I sometimes throw that to the chickens. Some of them love it and gobble it up, others don't like it. Never seen any negative effects. But I don't do it very often and I don't give them stuff with chocolate content because I've read that's harmful .

It's fine as others have said; no sugar, and very small amounts as a treat. Mary
