Cleaning sand run

Thanks all. I have my own little system. Now that they are older it is much easier. They free range all day, so usually very little poop in the run anyway. I scoop it every day without an issue and just use simple little scoops. Works for me! My only issue is when water spills. It gets really gross smelling in there. Like something died in there. (Have a solid floor, so can't drain into ground. ) I have to remove the caked sand to clean it up. its about 7mo old now. I plan to remove it all in few months and get fresh stuff.

That's because you can never scoop all the poop out.
Sand is saturated with pulverized poops and reeks when wet.
I learned that in the brooder(both literally and figuratively).
