Cleaning the chicken coop questions...

I concur with the deep bedding method. I sprinkle DE or PDZ when needed. If they're particularly messy (sometimes they do get loose poops), I let it dry and use a putty or drywall knife to scrape it off.

Just add some 1x2 to the edges of your shelves with a roast in the middle and wallah, poop boards😉
Wow, that is a clever idea. i have poop boards , best thing I ever added to the coop. I scrape them off with any old hoe most days. No smell ever in coop and almost no flies. And I have 28 chickens. Yes, chicken math got me too.

What a great space to work with! Lucky you and lucky chickens! :thumbsup

Anything in the coop will end up with dust on it. Keep that in mind for stuff you might store in there; I think I saw a sprinkler hung on the wall. If you want to keep things in there, maybe put it in a tote that has a lid?

The dust is, well, icky, when you think of what's in it. Chicken dander, pulverized dried out poop, bedding... That kind of stuff.
Thanks ! And yeah that stuff is coming out we didn't have much time to get it emptied out before getting them :)
