We recently purchased 7 day old babies they are now about 7 weeks old...6 from TSC and one from a local feed store. Someone also gave us 2 RIR chickens, said to be about a year old. Of the two grown chickens, we have been getting one egg per day with maybe one day every two weeks skipped. We are starting to introduce the babies to the big girls, have put the babies in a tractor next to the big girls run. The biggest of the two older girls "Billie" does not seem to like having the babies around. She circles their tractor intimidating them. She has also started bullying the other big girl "Skitzy" She will chase Skitzy back into the coop any time she sees her out in the run. Today I let the babies out of the tractor and put Billie in the tractor by herself. Skitzy came out of the coop into the run and even into the dirtbath area and took a bath. She has been coming out to eat and then getting chased back inside. Today she has been able to run around outside and seems to be in a much better mood. As I was sitting outside talking to Skitzy today while she was eating, she stepped a few steps away from the food and a out of her mouth came a clear watery mess. She tried to eat it (yuck) and it was in a dirt area so I could not tell if there was anything in it or if it was clear as it appeared when I saw it come out. She is still out playing, dirtbathing and seems to be in no distress. She will peck at the babies if they come close to her but does not chase them. Just wondering if this is anything I should be concerned about as long as she seems to be doing ok or is this something I should keep her away from the others?
