Can someone please post a pic of a chickens wings before and after they are clipped? I am considering cliping my chickens wings but I would like to see how much I would need to cut off. I am nervous, I used to cry everytime I cut my dogs nails. My chickies at 10 weeks can already fly over my head, much to the dismay of my BIL who told me chickens don't fly.

The way I always do it is, I stretch the wing out, and there are 2 rows of feathers, the long wing feathers, and the shorter round feathers, I cut a little past the row of shorter feathers(toward the tip of the wing), and I put my hand between the chicken and the scissors to make sure I dont stab the chicken.

You want to be sure and only clip one wing too....the idea is to make them off balance.
