Clipping wings?

If it is warm where you are it should not be too much of a problem. If it was cold, it could be bad. The inner feathers are used for insulating their body.

Thank you but for sure it will grow back both the secondary and primary
 
I clip my chickens wings (otherwise they'll fly over my fence and roam around the neighborhood). I've tried clipping only one wing (just the primary flight feathers), but they were still able to fly, so I clipped the second wing, and that works great! Hope this helps!
 
Another question when do they usually molt?
Chickens molt 2-3 times between hatch and about 6mo.
After that they will molt in the fall/winter each year.
They will not molt their first fall/winter.
I don't think it's a death sentence(as someone implied)that those wing feathers are missing this winter.
How cold does it get where you are?
Why are you clipping wings?
