Clipping wings

I have chickens breeds that weren't suposed to be flighty, but somehow they ended up being flighty. I heard that clipping their flying feathers works...so does anyone know how to do that??

Just one wing each. Some can still fly with both wings clipped.

If you wanted to show birds at the 4-H shows, would having clipped wings minimize their chances of winning?
