Howdy! I've got two lovely chicks that are about ready to go out and start to be introduced to the rest of my flock. I've got and area all sealed off for them to be in and get used to the flock without them getting beaten up by my buff hen (she is the leader and she does NOT like change in the pecking order)

I'm not concerned for introduction they can take as long as they need but what I am concerned about is the fact that both my chicks are very inquisitive and extremely flighty!!! I've never had chickens that are this flighty!!! I'm concerned that they will fly up, jump fence and mingle with the flock before it's time to properly mingle and the risk that my buff might just kill them I think is high as she can be very vicious when she wants to be!

They will be 7 weeks when they go outside and I'm just wondering if it's ok to clip there wings?? I've never done it before I've always been very reluctant to but in this case I can see it being a necessity.

I've seen allot of videos on YouTube on how to do it so I'm reasonably confident :)

How big is the area? Sonething as simple as some bird betting or fishing line strung across would suffice

I did think that might be ok but it's a very large area and its imprectical for me to cover it all :-/ I could make the area smaller but tbh that just as impractical for me as putting mesh over the top :-/

I appreciate the idea though thank you :)
