WhiteMountainsRanch - My nerves were very raw yesterday, and my emotions were in overdrive, it just hit the wrong nerve. The original Little Woman came on today, and when Jo goes to New York to work for the lady at the boarding house. The Lady calls out to the housekeeper, "Sophieeeeee, Sophie", I lost it again this morning, and just stood in front of the TV & cried, I could not even move to turn the TV off. At least this time I can walk by where she is buried, When Muffin Passed, I could not even go near her grave without being physically ill.
In Aug. 2009, I got my oldest daughter a Russian Dwarf Hamster, such a cute thing, but so little, but not a little as those Robo Hamsters. Just after Christmas, I noticed a bulge near his jawline, and found out they are prone to tumors. (Had Goldens & Teddy Bears as a kid, never heard of tumors in hamsters) He was fine till the beginning of Jan. this year, the tumor burst over the weekend, and it was like he had a stroke, he could no longer climb up his tube, but was still eating & drinking. Called two vets in town (California), I asked about the cost of putting him down. They wanted $40 - $45 to put down a hamster the size of a large walnut, and he only cost $15.00, and one informed me that I would have to dispose of the body. Finally got a hold of the Base vet, and they charged $10.00 to put him down.
MusketeerinFla - My husband saw him 3 houses over last week, wearing a collar this time, not sure if there were tags on it, but he is still around.
Marty is still moping around the house, and got pecked by Owl our roo today. Did get 7 eggs today & one is working on #8. The also got leftover cornbread, mashed potatoes, stuffing & green beans. After saying what we were thankful for, my husband said "Let's have a moment of silence for Sophie. He is not one to show outward emotion, but he is missing that little girl too.
I hope everyone had a wonderful & safe Thanksgiving.
