Good morning! Since building my covered run, my coop doors are open all the time, and it works very well. Mary

That's the ADOR1! You can see more about it here: http://adorstore.com/Hi aart, I think you're forgetting how much you already influenced this build! In addition to the 1.6 sq ft of roof ventilation, I have a window on the far side of the coop, which I open for more ventilation in warm weather. They also get plenty of light in there, as that window is the full width of one wall!

I had checked out some auto doors, but didn't find exactly what I'm looking for:
1. Door goes up and down in guides, not a swinging door.
2. I have no power out there, so it must be battery powered. A solar charger would be awesome.
3. I'd like it to be photo driven, rather than timer driven, so I don't have to keep adjusting it thru the seasons. Because my run has a roof, door is in shade, so I'd like a remote photo eye or adjustable sensitivity.
I might have to drop the photosensitive requirement, but that still leaves battery and a string lift requirement. So many I've seen are for swinging doors, which was a surprise.

That's a very nice unit. Unfortunately, I already have a door and frame installed, and would really like to keep it! Know of anything that's just the lifter mechanism, with similar features? That's the ADOR1! You can see more about it here: http://adorstore.com/
I appreciate the thought of it, but the truth is I have far less time than money, at least when compared on the scale of a chicken door opener.
