Clot-looking veins in fertile egg on day 7

Pics
Defiantly put something non-slip down for them, a slip could cause splayed legs or worse. I use the Grip Mat from Bunnings, I just cut it to fit and use the grippiest side up. I wash it after the first hatch and chuck it out after the second hatch.

If you can get it in within 30 second to a minute, the eggs will retain their warmth for a bit but they wont like big changes.

Cool. Sorry I'm a bit side tracked treating a hen for sour crop and trying to make a chick chair for a chick that just hatched with a bad leg at the moment, but I'm trying to check the post's as often as I can.

All good, hope your birds will be ok, any idea what colour he’ll turn out? Got some gray and yellow fluff in no particular pattern

Thanks, me too.

Sorry I'm not up with colours, I only keep splash, blue and white. The only ones that I have hatched that are not splash, blue or white were gold and silver Wyandotte's and some buff columbians which were all pretty easy to work out what was what.

Found it, this video put my mind at rest about a lot of things that I thought I was doing wrong in my early days:
