Hi everyone!

I am a very new to this forum thingo, but I have been raising chickens for many years.

We "rescued" a couple of battery hens a few years back, and they have been good layers. Recently though, I have noticed that their eggs have clotts (solid, almost like meat) in them.

I have tried searching BYC for any info re this but haven't found anything. Anyone know why this is? Is it some dietary problem or is it a prob with the girls? Someone even suggested this may be a viral problem (but they didn't know too much about chickens!)

I hope I have posted this in the correct section - any suggestions would be gladly accepted! Thanks xxxx

Search up meat spots. An occasional one is normal. Just a bit of tissue that broke off while the egg was being formed. Alot of them though from all the hens might be a sign of a problem.
