Cloudy Days in the Coop - My Adventures with Chickens.

I am very jealous of your little forest life...I spent a lot of my youth in valleys and high desert ranches and now live in the burbs. I would trade scrub oak for pine any day! It's my dream to have a nice little PNW hideaway with ferns and moss, but my husband is a city slicker for sure!

Love all the photos and learning more about your flock, and glad that hawk is keeping away!

Not mixed up.
You will never ever get a real Ameraucana from a feed store. They sell EEs under that name. And names like Americana.
Good to know. I guess that this means that Neutrophil and Macrophage are EEs, then. I don't care -- they're cute, they'll lay pretty eggs, and they have muffs! I love the muffs!

Hopefully, you'll get a nice amount of rain soon! (If you want a lot of rain, that is. :D) Agreed about the water. I often wonder how long it'll take before everything is covered in an inch of water or more!
We are definitely keeping our fingers crossed for a snowy winter. ☃️ Let's hope you never have to deal with that much water! :)

Ah, snow. That's one thing I'd love to have all winter. Though, this winter I'm supposed to get more snow. Usually, I get an inch or two max through the whole season. The past through years, though, I've been getting buckets of it! Do you get a lot of snow in New Mexico or not much? :)

So this is where our snow has gone...up to Washington! We should be getting between 60 to 80 inches each season at this altitude, 15 ft up in the mountains. But with this drought weve been only seeing 6 to 20 inches, a few feet up in the mountains. Super dry. Definitely send your extra snow down here! :D

That is so much snow!!! While you might be thinking of going up to Washington, I might be planning a trip down to New Mexico!
