Can I just preface this whole paragraph with the fact I'm embarrassing with my attitude about showing...
I currently only do my town's local show which is fairly small, I was actually extremely busy in the lead up the the show and did zero prep with my chickens
That said, as the only female large fowl sussex, my buff hen Nosey got a first.
Don't ask me why of all the breeds I own only the Sussex get their own breed section here, I wonder myself.
My Barnevelder hen placed first over a buff orp, I believe it was.
My random silkie grow out roo I threw in there too, did not place. The winner of that section was the rooster of the eggs' breeder Second place was a lakenvelder if I remember correctly? It was a fairly big section with a few entries.
Other than that I mean for my lazy attitude 2/3 wasn't too bad I prefer when there's other sussex there though, there was only a Light roo.

So today is day 17? Idk.
The eggs are already in "lockdown" they shouldn't really be, but I wasn't consulted, again
I had quick candle to not disturb anything but unfortunately I think two quit...
3 and 6 I think, I wasn't paying a ton of attention because I was trying to be quick.



On a more positive note. The other eggs arrived. This will be more or less my own hatch so it'll be much more controlled The goal is to set them today, I'll share a picture.

I havent been able to confirm... the other eggs are hatching and taking their SWEET TIME ABOUT IT.

None of these three have seemed to be able to hatch on their own.
Idk if there's been a problem with the incubation or it's purely the eggs but I'm getting a little concerned for my eggs now They've still got time though, due tomorrow I think...

Oh dear, I hate assist hatching,
I'm sorry That's so strange though... I wonder. That sounds similar to one of the last hatches I did.

I think some of these eggs were shipped so I guess it might be that too...
Do you know what cause chicks to get glued in? I've had it before but i dont actually know why and never this many in one batch...
Since I've already had to open and close the incubator I'm thinking I'll give my eggs a quick candle when it gets darker... then I'll update.
