Clover Mites?

I never had grandpas growing up. I'm adopting yours. Is his name Ed? I could use a Weird Grandpa Ed who wastes nothing and sings well. I'll sing with him. We could do Sonny and Cher together. We'd be cute.
He was my only grandpa growing up. Pretty sure the other one died before I was born, and from what I've been told I didn't miss out on much.

You're welcome to adopt mine. lol. His name was Harold. He had a beautiful round bald head with hair around the edges, and a mustache. He was always smiling and singing and cooking and making jokes. I'm sure he'd love to sing with you. :) He used to toast those little mini bagels and put cream cheese on them for us grandkids and he'd call them "crispy critters". And the exact same thing un-toasted was bagel pies, which he would cut into little pie shaped wedges. :lau

Hey guys,

I've been putting the finishing touches on my coop and I keep seeing these bright red teeny tiny bugs. They're like sweet and sour sauce colored. I did some googling and they might be clover mites? Are these a problem for chickens? I don't want to move my babies out to the coop tomorrow just to be infested with these mites. I read that they're not harmful to humans or pets, so hopefully no issue if it is clover mites. Does anyone know other bugs that they could be?

Also, there are a TON of spiders in my run, and some inside the coop. The ones outside have built a zillion webs between the coop roof and the hardware cloth ceiling. Tiny spiders. Maybe babies? Is this an issue? I don't think they're of the venomous variety. I'm secretly hoping them catch all the mosquitoes ;)
Sounds like clover mites. Do you have a lot of plants growing around your coop? If I was you I wouldn’t worry about the spiders, your chickens will eat them all.
