It was funny by brother in law is from there and when he and my sister came down we went saltwater fishing since there ain't none of that there. Anyway I started fishing with a popping cork and he was like "brother in law what in the hell are you doing " it was funny him seeing it for the first time

There are different methods for different fish. What is a crappie nibbles? Store bought or homemade?

Grandpa took us bream fishing on Lake Bistineau (Shreveport) and always used crickets or worms. There wasn't such a thing as too small. He'd scale, gut and head 'em and fry them rolled in corn meal. Crappie was a big game fish to him.

I smoked King Mackerel and couldn't believe how good it tasted. We could get into a school of them before finding the specs. Just be sure to have wire leaders on. We have had to switch leaders since the specs don't like wire.

Nibbles are bought.
I pretty much just fish inland saltwater so speckled trout or redfish im right on bayou lacombe but we go on the bayou just for the quietness. Well it used to be like that but the out of town kayakers are pretty much ruining the peacefulness
A friend of mine gigs for flounder alot. I did a very long time ago. As teens we used to go frogging alot too

Before the stupidity, BIL would jig for flounder at the port in the shallow water. Spot, stalk and drop a shad or mullet right on top of the flounder. He had access and the guards would let him in. He'd spend the afternoon after loading ships and come home with an ice chest full. Now, no one is allowed around the port. National security.

This is Lake Charles. And it has grown up a lot also with the casinos. Lots of people playing in the swamps now.
