There are 3 domesticated ducks that have been hanging around since March (we call them "the trio") and 2 of them are the parents of my duckling, I put corn out for them every morning and they are always waiting for it but they are kinda skittish when I get close and they usually wait to eat till ive walked away quite a distance.

When I am near them they make a clucking noise that sounds just like a chickens cluck, any idea what this call means?

My ducks do this and seems to mean that they are protecting everyone else. I have one particular female pekin who does this ALL the time. Maybe a defense cluck???

Corn is bad for ducks? i never knew that! I knew too much bread is bad but not corn! I go thru a 50 lb bag of corn about every month and a half!

I take it no one really knows what the "clucking" means for sure? lol
