Day #1:
This morning when I let the girls out of the coop, it was very exciting to get a good look at all their beautiful colors and patterns in the natural daylight! I found 2 eggs in the coop. And right now they are going in and out of the coop trying to decide who should lay eggs and when or something. LOL! I also got some great pictures to share with you guys!

I know.....but it's hard! I'm excited to see what types of eggs these girls lay.

Red - Red Sex Links
Blue - RIR
Pink - Barred Rocks
Yellow - California White or Bresse or ???
Do I have everything straight?

Day #3:
I'm sorry I didn't update you guys this morning, but a lot happened today!

When I let them out they came out to eat and drink and then went back inside to keep warm. The temperature is only 8F and the wind is very strong. The 3 eggs from early this morning were already frozen solid and completely cracked. So I had to toss them.

A little later I went to visit my former chickens! It was awesome! The people are super nice and let me go in and hold/visit them. We also bought a jar of fresh raw honey from their little shop. It was so nice to see them again, and they're doing great!

I got 4 more eggs in the afternoon, and this time I collected them before they froze. So that makes 7 today! Same as yesterday.

Today I picked up 9 hens from a friend. I will be chicken-sitting for the next 4 months. So they aren't really mine but I will be calling them mine because I'll be keeping them for such a long time. This is my flock thread where I'll post stories, pictures, and especially updates on how taming them is going. (They are quite skittish).
I think I have 3 barred rocks, 3 or 4 red sex links, 1 RIR, 1 bresse(maybe).
I'll be posting some pictures tomorrow! please follow along.
