Do Your Chickens Free Range?

Mine are semi-free-range. They have a 100m square fenced area (though they escape at their own free will )!

Mine free range in a fenced yard as well but they too will fly over the fence if they feel the need to escape

I don't free range because my chickens are pets, and I couldn't bear to lose one. Even though I don't free range, I do want my chickens to have some fun in other places, so a several times a month I let them out and watch them carefully so nothing can get to them. ( Basically I guard them! ) My chickens have a HUGE coop and run though, so they are not cramped or bored at all.

I do the same though. Even though they have a fenced yard I stay out with them because of many predators around. Mine are pets too and I would be devastated if I lost one. They have eaten all the grass down in the backyard. If I move them to the front there’s no fencing and then I have issues with neighbors dogs coming over. So it’s an on going sentry duty here

Mine free range, except for my silkies, a old hen, and my cornish x. They choose to stay in the run, though.

Mine don't "free range," but I let them out when I am home, and can keep an eye on them. We have so many predators here, and have had so many losses! Can't risk it!

My chickens free range in a large enclosed pasture. Although some unfortunately escape through rabbit holes and do as they please.

Nope - too many predators here. I do let them out for an hour every couple of days when I know I can stay with them.
