Clueless Gander

If your right then my gander at almost 7 years should be nice and fertile. None of my gooses eggs this year were fertile she was a year old this past April. she laid 60 eggs,. I didn't look at them all but did candle quite a few after 2 weeks of sitting by one of my Muscovy's and my goose and none were fertile. and this was at beginning of her laying and at end of it.

wow your yearling layed alot of eggs for a yearling and the eggs will be more fertile when 2 years of egg

never had fertility issues with yearling ganders among THREE breeds of geese. We must have always gotten odd ball ganders among the three breeds. Even breeds others claim to have poor fertility to low/no fertility as young birds have had no issues here.

With some goose breeds fertility is high enough for yearlings espically chinese geese and crossbred geese and embden on occasion but the heavier kind have the most fertility problems

As in my avatar I raise Sebastopol geese only. But have most of the colors...

in ireland there is no place to get sebes and acts like they are extinct in ireland :)
I never saw one in real life ever! Maybe once a cross but thats not the same

Lydia.... I think your boy is in his prime. You take exceptional care if them.

Our Dewlap Toulouse have no fertility issues.
Our Sebastopols have no fertility issues.
The Americans have no fertility issues.

98% hatch rate with a 93% fertility rate in 2013..................no fertility problems here. Of course I also have a much different take of what and how to feed than most and our fertility rates show it. The birds are in excellent feather and body condition too.

You should share photos of your birds sometime for all to see since you seem to have so much knowledge to share

Over fatting geese and overfeeding causes fertilty problems

Haha i love to do it anytime as well as you?!:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D
