I think both sides can state their case without name calling or telling someone where to burn. One thing for sure if ya gonna dish it out ya gotta be tough enough to take some back. So why don't we all stop it?
Temporary jobs for union employees that work for the federal gov. They all were told that this would last 3 times longer than it did. It didn't.
Our local dealers are still waiting for payment from the feds. They are our customers and they are basically getting skrewed on their nornal cash flow and having to adjust their regular business practices to accomidate. Just think if you sold 4500 bucks worth of eggs (for each transaction) and had to wait 90 or more days for payment. Would seriously affect your normal business cash flow...
There is pent up demand but in today's deflated dollars without subsidies that taxpayers pay for cash for clunkers was a failure. Just think of all the used cars that could have been resold by the dealers for way more than 4500 bucks. Laid off workers from unions that could have had jobs selling these at car dealerships...
We looked into this for our business. Trading in our older vehicles for new, but ours were worth more than the costs associated. If they ran a new one for businesses specific targeted for business that benefited business (tax wise) then we would look into it.
That is where the quote:
"from my cold dead hands" (Mr Heston) applies to small business and Mom and Pop shops.
Long live the 10th ammendment
and may God continute to Bless Texas
Sure it cost them money, nothing like the cost of the cars.
How do you figure? Typical dealer pays the invoice cost in advance, and either gets credit for holdback or gets reimbursed for holdback at the time of sale. Holdback is typically a credit for the cost of carrying inventory for a 90 day period, so they pay invoice less that figure.
Just because the title does not transfer does not mean they are not out nearly the entire invoice cost of the car while it sits on the lot.
