It's been in the 20's at night here and in the 30's during the day. My girls have not slowed down at all in the laying department.

I guess sometimes they just fall out when least expected.I found a duck egg frozen to the ice covering the stock tank (the waterfowl swimming hole). What WAS she thinking?!?!?
Well, my girls have been laying. It may be all 3 since I saw the black/white hen looking in at the nest. This evening when I went to put them up, I couldn't find one of my chocolate barred girls. I was worried since we have had rain for 5 days and the creek on the property (they haven't found it yet) is high and flowing VERY fast.
I looked around then peeked in the nest and there she was, setting. We are expecting snow tomorrow. At least the current ducklings (6 weeks old) will not be using a heat lamp after these hatch if she goes broody completely.![]()
My muscovy are crazy. I need to remove more eggs tomorrow.
I haven't seen a Scovie egg since Oct. but the ducks are mating so eggs will soon be here, earlier even than last year I am thinking.I still have Cayugas laying every day. I get 2 a day and we have 4.
