CO Hatching Eggs

I hatch a lot of blue and splash, some silver partridge, occasionally porcelain, some that were close to lavender but I don't think they have good color yet, I saved one to breed back to the male that is black split to lavender so hopefully next year I'll get better lavenders.

I don't plan to go up to Wardle's this weekend, I have to be sure everything is ready for Bob to take care of it all without me here Tuesday and Wednesday.. I will be at the DTC teaching those two days, so if you are in the Denver area we may be able to arrange a meetup. Let me know before Sunday, that's the day I will set everything I have if it isn't spoken for. I've been getting 2-4 Silkie eggs a day.

Pozzees that works for me!! I'm near swedish & porter hospitals. That will give me extra time to dial in the home made incubator. I would be delighted with any silkies, do you by chance have any baby chicks?

I hatched some of Pozees eggs and got 2 black, 1 silver partridge with red leakage, and 1 lavender looking splash with a little red leakage starting to peek through. My friend has the 2 blacks but I have the other 2 (1 roo, 1 pullet). I love them! Great type.
I have some recent pics on my phone I'll try to post tomorrow.

Silkie eggs were the easiest we ever hatched, which was surprising to us because we had heard it would be difficult. They popped out on time, and quick like popcorn. :)

That's very reassuring. Ok, going to try my hand at incubating pozzee's eggs. Getting a REAL incubator with turner, Going to toss in a few of my eggs, go mayyybbbeee my friends place to see if she has other eggs to set for me to try.. she has this dwarf icelandic breed I'm curious about, but except the cemani or swedish flower hens, polish (oohh I have only 1 polish, trying to find her some crested friends and start a bantam coop/run), and bresse. I'm set after pozzee's silkies (totally adorable).

My bf has realized his arguments hold no weight with me when I see him cuddling MY chickens when he comes home from work and a month and a half ago he almost bought a white silkie roo at a chicken swap, while I was about to pay for 4 white silkie chicks, he made me stop, conceeded to the chicken mania in my teary eyes, relented to one polish pullet.

Don't worry, the chicken guy my bf listens to at wardel's tomorrow won't let me sneak out any silkie chicks.

trsturself- I love your polish chickens!!

ashdoes- if the chicken guy doesn't try to pass off more of his chickens on my bf tomorrow, (cochin, he knows I'm looking for broodies, & he has coocoo marans, but I want super dark maroon eggs.

Can't seem to locate local meaties.

Complete sentance to ashdoes- then if you have marans or cochin (sizzle, frizzle) eggs or chicks to go along with the cream legbars we talked about, I would be interested.

I'm excited fir silkies, cemani, cream legbar and meaties!

I have the plucker/cones available to rent to me.

Unless some awesome svart honas, frizzle/sizzle cochin come my way or a few polish, I guess I'm almost done with the ones I want to raise for the fall.

It's thunderstorms here. Went to check on my ladies, they came running up to me in the rain and I moved their food and water to a covered area.

Bf is going to be soo surprised I did 3 loads of dishes AND laundry. And put the boxes in the back of the station wagon for tomorrow's trip to wardel's (bedding for brooder boxes, meaties, more food for my chickers).. maybe an incubator. Save a chick. Um mm anything else I should get for baby chicks & possibly hatching eggs?

I keep a humidifier running in the incubator room, I bought mine at Walgreen's. Helps keep humidity in the incubator and hatcher where I want it.
