CO

Littleton here. I'm pretty new also, but have lived here all my life. 10 chickens (at least 2 are Roos, and a couple others are looking suspicious). Didn't want Roos but they are really funny.

Hi Bandobrown - do you live right in Littleton - with lots of houses around you? Or, on the outskirts where there's a little more space? (I'm trying to get a picture in my mind of the whole Littleton area but I'm not sure where it starts and ends on all sides.)

How do your neighbors do with your chickens? I'd love to see a picture of your set up if you wanted to share that.

Well we are getting a lot of people from Colorado, but still none of you are on the western slope. I keep hoping to find some fellow chickens lovers near me. And how do you all keep chickens in Denver? That is a very congested place, and I would have never thought that someone was raising chickens in the middle of it.

We do live surrounded by houses (near Columbine Country Club if you know where that is), but we have 10 acres so it works pretty well. So far no complaints from the neighbors.

I got my first green egg today. Pretty funny

4my hennypenny - I am now roosterless and really miss his crowing. I'm very interested in your Barred Rock if he is a roo and you still want to get rid of him.

Let me know. Thanks.

Chirpy, I just posted pics of my 8 wk olds (under what gender is this). I'm still not sure whether Turkey will be a roo or not. I'll definitely let you know if I have any. Are you just interested in BR, or would you want any roo?

Hi HennyPenny: I think I'm leaning toward just a BR but I'm not 100% so we could talk about any you might have and want to rehome. I do want a larger roo to help keep an eye on my hens when they freerange.

Let me know when you know! Thanks.

Hi Bandobrown! I do want a Roo and would love one of yours but I'm going to be picky because of my little children. I'm really hoping for a Barred Rock Roo (still waiting to hear from 4myHennyPenny to find out if hers is a Roo).

What do you have for Roos? I do want a large breed Roo as I free range my chickens every day for a few hours and loved how my first Roo looked after his girls.

I'm in Littleton every Tuesday! If you want to keep this off board you can e-mail me at [email protected].

4myHennyPenny - how's Turkey looking??

Oh - so sorry, almost forgot --- GO BRONCOS!!! We are watching this mornings game as I type. We recorded it so don't tell me what the score was.
