We are only 25 miles from the Gulf and were hit pretty hard in Katrina. We didn't have our flock then,.. but we will have to lock them down tight and pray!

I was wondering

What are your plans for your flock if you have to leave?

Secure the tractors as best I can. Double or triple their waterers, make sure every feeder is full, then trust to God for anything more. A couple of pets one might take with you, but when you have dozens of birds it's not practical. Just as soon as I could I'd be back to check on them.

Pretty much what farmers have done from the beginning of time.
