Cocci... how many days with Corid until no blood in poo?

They started the Corid on Monday. there doesn't seem to be as much blood in their poo, but is there a general rule on how long it takes before the blood clears? do they need to be blood free for X amt of days before stopping the Corid?

It varies from bird to bird. Give them the full course and it should clean up. Blood in the stool is not because of the cocci, but because of the damage done to the intestines as a result of the cocci. Small distinction, but important because your birds probably already have a much lower cocci load, but the lesions throughout their intestines can take a while to heal up and stop bleeding. That is why it is so important to treat cocci overload ASAP. Once the damage is too great the birds die from the cocci regardless of what you do for them because their intestines are too badly damaged to heal.

CMV is correct. Do the correct length of time with Corid, 5 days and no more than 7. You don't just continue it indefinitely.

I surely hope that it isn't too bad that they don't completely heal. When I got them their poos were about half blood (but not runny blood... just hamburgery) Now their poos are about 1/4 or less blood. I hope this is a good sign. Although the last one to poo had more blood than the others. They act pretty healthy, so I hope that is a good sign as well.

i got my little chicks around the age of maybe 4 to 5 weeks old. i have had them a week tomorrow. one started pooping blood monday. i got the corri wed. then i think 2 were bloody. bad bad watery poop. they want to drink drink drink. what can i use for bedding to keep them from laying in the watery poop since they are still little and dont roost yet? i mean they poop when they sleep so what can i do? also the smell???? its not a stinky smell but a gross smell. is that the meds coming through them or the sickness?

Any bedding will be sufficient. It will just need to be changed more often. The stench?...That would be the blood in the GI system. Blood stinks when it is only partially digested. Sorry to be so graphic...
