Cocci or worms?

About a week or two ago my favorite her died of what I thought was egg binding, but nowy other oldest hen is loosing feathers, droopy, lethargic, bloody poo and what appeared to be worms in the poo, so I'm going to start treating everyone for cocci tomorrow and possibly start a wormer after that, any tips or suggestions? I plan on cleaning the coop and run with an ammonia solution after starting treatment

I have brought in four new birds, 2 8 week old babies and some 15-16 week old pullets from this spring

Then it might be a new strain of coccidia that they haven't developed resistance to yet. You can treat for both worms and coccidiosis at the same time. I would switch everyone to medicated chick starter too for a few weeks, just to make sure they don't get too heavy a load of the protozoa.

I am currently having a similar issue. Are you saying then that a feed with amprolium won't help, and corid is the only remedy? Please help, I have one lethargic 8 month old with watery poop and wings drooping.
