Hello! My family has chickens and I am currently staying with them. I have noticed many of the chickens have developed a swollen or bloated appearance on their feet. It varies between bird in intensity and not all seem to be having an issue. My family had assumed it was all fine but I fear it may be a sign of an issue.
My first instinct was that it may be gout. I don't know which type it may be. Considering my family lets them eat compost and hardly ever cleans out their coop (often waiting months for me to come home and do it) I think it may be due to exposure to something.
It could also be some sort of disease. I know some disease can cause swelling for birds.
If anyone could help me with forming a diagnosis or treatment plan for them, I would greatly appreciate it.
I can provide more photos or videos if needed.

The legs look pretty healthy otherwise, especially if there's no bumblefoot. Are the chickens just obese?

Tagging @Eggcessive and @Wyorp Rock.
Don't think they're obese. They get plenty of exercise and I check their weight regularly. Here's some more photos that better show my concerns: some of them have noticable lumps on the toes and lie crooked when on the ground.
