Coccidia is killing my flock one by one- tried everything

Thinning mucus and "stripping" it are two vastly different things.

If this study meant it stripped the mucus, it would be a very bad thing...not healthy at all for mucosa(the layer of an organ that produces mucus) to be stripped of it's protective layer of mucus. You might want to switch your wording from stripping to thinning when paraphrasing the study results.

Research is always a good thing; beyond helping us to better understand, it often exposes error/ommission and (as in this case) points that require further clarification. The shorter version of my excessively detailed post on the use of ACV provides the following direct quotes:

Hi, and I realize your response was directed to another, but ... since my name came up? Figured I'd set the record straight.
The circumstances, I thought, were that the owner of birds infested with unidentified internal parasites was waiting specifically for Corid to arrive at some later date, specifically for the *later* treatment of what was presumed to be coccidiosis.

From my intial response, in which I first suggest that ACV be used:

SoOo ... it'd been easier to just chalk this one up to a breakdown in communications on my part, and be done w/ it. But, that would lead to continued misunderstanding about Apple Cider Vinegar, which is indeed beneficial for tons of reasons, and has virtually no potential to do even the slightest harm.

I'm not advocating or condemning anything or anyone ... just presenting absolute fact, based upon sound research, and confirmation from reliable sources. And, whether it's your chickens, or mine, or his, or anybody else's? That's what we all need, should such emergencies arise in our flocks.

Although I do prefer natural solutions 'n such? I start my flocks w/ Amprolium, and will keep a fresh bag of it on the shelf, along w/ fenbendazole.

From what I know about Cowcreekgeek, he is one smart cookie. I know he wasn't saying using ACV Instead of Corrid, he said he would use it while waiting for the Corrid.

THat was my take too.

All good information. Most of my animals get fermented feed as often as I can make it to get thebenefits of the "mother". Looks like using the ACV for the tannins has benefits when congestion is a problem. The healthy gut , and a healthy bird, certainly reduces the effects of infestations in the gut.
