I have just discovered through a local poultry site that a "breeder"I have purchased several chickens from in the past year may have a problem in her flock. Several people posted that their birds were dying and a few had actually had autopsies done at the local college and the results were coccidiosis and Mareks.
Now I am panicking!! I have six chicks about 7-8 weeks old from her that have been in a coop/run with a rooster. (Interesting to note that I had 7 chicks and found one dead a week ago...no visible signs of illness or injury). The birds appear healthy, however...
I also have 7adult hens from her in another coop with a rooster and 2 hens from another breeder (lost 2 RIR hens forno apparent reason about a month ago).
One of my hens went broody and I let her set on some eggs and she hatched two and the chicks are doing fine in with the flock.
What should I be doing? Wait til another dies and autosy (I just have been burying them til now)? Treat as if they have coccidiosis?
I am going to do a thorough coop cleaning tomorrow. Any other suggestions? Thanks so much!

Assuming if another dies, have the carcass necropsied if you wish. You can contact your county extension office or state agriculture department and find out how to go about doing it.
